A 33-year-old Northville man was arrested for robbing the Bake Station Too, after a neighboring business owner stopped him from leaving the store with the $50 he had snatched from the cashier’s hand just before closing time, around 5:45 p.m. on April 25. The suspect entered the bakery, located on Orchard Lake Road near 13 Mile and asked the cashier for change for a $50 bill. The cashier, an 18-year-old woman, took out two $20 bills and two $5 bills from the register and the suspect reportedly grabbed it and tried to run.

Just at that time, the owner of a neighboring business noticed the man and came inside the bakery, where the suspect tried to run past him. The citizen, who is a Wayne County Sheriff’s reserve deputy, tackled the suspect and held him until police arrived.

A 47-year-old Farmington Hills man was arrested for drinking and driving around 3:30 p.m. on April 22, after he crashed his car several times into another vehicle in the parking lot of the Hunter’s Square shopping plaza at Orchard Lake and 14 Mile. The man, who had his 10-year-old daughter in the car, registered a .15 on a preliminary breath test and he was found to have an open bottle of alcohol in his vehicle. He was cited for operating while intoxicated, child endangerment and open intoxicants.

5. A Farmington Hills woman reported someone stole her purse from her vehicle, which was parked on the 22000 block of Tulane on April 22. The woman, who was visiting her parents, told police she parked in the street and may have left the car doors unlocked.

6. A 32-year-old Westland man reported someone attempted to steal his white 2004 Ford Expedition from a parking lot at 21000 Green Hill, in the Green Hill Apartments on April 21. A passenger side window was smashed out and the ignition was damaged. The vehicle had been rolled out of its parking spot, but was not stolen. The vehicle’s alarm sounded.

7. A resident on the 21000 block of Green Hill, in the Green Hill Apartments, reported someone stole his Dodge Ram pickup truck that was parked in front of his building on April 21. The truck was paid off and its owner had the only set of keys.

8. Police were dispatched to Botsford Hospital on a report of a man pointing a gun at another man in the labor and delivery area on April 26. The victim, an 18-year-old man, told police that he was exchanging words with the father of his sister’s baby, a 26-year-old Redford man, when the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him. The suspect then left the hospital. Witnesses gave a vehicle description and told police they saw him point the gun at the teen.

9. A 36-year-old Farmington Hills woman reported she was nearly struck by a reckless driver in the parking lot of the Maple House restaurant at Middlebelt and 11 Mile on April 28. The driver, a white man in his mid-40s, almost hit the woman as she walked through the lot. She reportedly had to jump out of the way. She spoke to the driver and he reportedly apologized and drove away.

10. A 22-year-old Southfield man was stopped at Grand River and Middlebelt after his car was clocked speeding 110 mph on eastbound M-5 around 2 a.m. on April 23. There was an open case of beer in the car, with open bottles and cans on the floor. A preliminary breath test showed his blood alcohol level was .09. The man had identification from Mexico and an immigration form. Police contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which had no records that he had entered the country legally. They said ICE Detroit would follow up. The man was cited for operating under the influence and not having a driver’s licence.

11. A man at Chatham Hills Apartments, 36281 Grand River, called police at 3:50 a.m. April 22 saying that a neighbor was “revving his engine” in the parking lot, and woke him from his sleep. He said he is a longtime resident but has had a problem with the tenant being loud, leaving the garage door open and working on his vehicle in the garage in violation of the apartment’s lease agreement. He said he has also contacted apartment management before, and is now filing a police report to document it.

12. A 25-year-old Walled Lake woman was cited for leaving the scene of an accident that occurred at Shiawassee and Prospect at 11:30 a.m. April 20. The severely damaged car with deployed airbags was reported unoccupied and abandoned on the street in front of a house on the morning of April 21. Inside was an open pint of liquor. A neighbor’s surveillance video helped place the time of the crash. The recording included the sound of the crash and audio of the woman calling a friend for a ride home. She told police she crashed into another vehicle on east bound Shiawassee, which she said suddenly stopped at the sign in front of her at Prospect.

13. A 23-year-old Warren man was cited for having narcotic paraphernalia after being questioned around 3 a.m. April 19 at the Grand River and Power gas station parking lot. He consented to a search of his vehicle and admitted ownership of a used glass marijuana bong. He had an outstanding warrant for marijuana possession and a bond of $300 from Roseville.
